Pistachio Date Truffles

closeup photo of pistachio date truffles served on silver Persian tray garnished with rose buds by letter to my food

Its a taste from memories of Dubai!

A beautiful walk by the Heritage village, I spotted a sweet shop that sold varieties of dates and date sweets.

My eyes were on the green velvety sweets that looked like ladoos.

I tasted one and it was love in the first bite!!

They called it Irani Pistachio Truffles.

Ive tried different combinations to recreate the taste and the recipe below is the closest I could get! I hope you give these easy, no cook, sugar free and yummy truffles a try! You can thank me later! :)

Some key things to keep in mind while you prep for this, is to use good quality dates. I use Medjool, Safawi or Iranian Ajwa varieties and each one is unique! I also make sure the pistachios are finely powdered for that beautiful green velvety texture.

This recipe calls for chocolate compound and I feel unsweetened dark chocolate is a winner against the sweetness of dates.

You’ll also need a processor for better mash of the dates. Using a hand masher is ok, but you’ll probably need a painkiller at the end of this recipe! ;)

I hope you try this super simple yum recipe and let me know how you liked it! If you do make it, do tag me on Instagram and I’ll happily share it with my folks on Instagram!
