gulab jamun, blogpost about how to get noticed on platforms for photography, Indian sweets, rustic photo, Indian mithai, vintage photography

Hello! Its been a while and oh! Life went through a rollercoaster!

As I was preparing to connect with you again, I thought to myself, where was my real challenge when suddenly Instagram decided to change their niche! I barely knew any other platform because, I began my photography journey on Instagram and was pretty comfortable there.

How horrible did we all feel when the reaches dropped and followers were lost?! All of a sudden the confidence of creation that built up gradually fell dropped.

It took me a while to figure this out, but it did a lot good by taking a break from Instagram. And NO! I'm still a fan of Instagram. Im never leaving that space for sheer gratitude.

How To Get Noticed

We tend to rate our work on the basis of how well its doing on Instagram. Lets break that thought and focus less on the Insta algo and push focus to visibility on various platforms all at once.

Vero is a platform currently growing numbers for photographers. Its a lovely place to find new people sharing your interest in photography. Also, the niche-less approach makes it wonderful for creatives to explore different genres of photography and post them all at one place.

Behance is a product of Adobe. This space allows you to create projects where in each project can have multiple photos, texts, NFTs, links, etc that make for a professional portfolio.

When you sign up for Behance, you also get to try their Adobe Portfolio which is a free-to-create; oh yeah! A portfolio with beautifully curated website design to show all your work for absolutely free.

Click HERE to explore this free platform.

When you sign up on Behance, you can directly upload your project from Lightroom. This is super simple and can save much of your posting time. Its also a great way to allow other Behance/ Adobe users to explore your work.

Behance also has a page for Jobs available in your creative field. One of the best first places your can get hired. The communication with the client is so much easier because you can create mood boards on Behance and also your portfolio is right there!

Pinterest needs no introduction. Its a great place to get inspired and create boards and pins. To grow as a creator on Pinterest is a little painstaking, frankly, but not impossible. As and when you post to other platforms, try pinning them to your page on Pinterest. Also, interacting with other creators would help increasing your visibility.

These are just 3 spaces that can increase your reach and visibility. Apart from this I strongly suggest you have a Website that is carefully curated and has a strong connecting About Me page.

A potential client will always look for a professional freelancer or agency over someone they can only communicate on a social platform or tons of people.

Having a classic website doubles your chance of getting hired for professional work.

My website too is hosted by Squarespace. It’s one of the best platforms to build your online presence and also create an earning with time. They have an array of beautifully designed, award winning templates and easy navigating designed pages, its really on what you choose for your brand.

Creating a website might look intimidating and times-taking, but having your own space allows you to grow your content in a way you want and always opens up larger opportunities as a creative brand.

These are all the platforms and space id highly recommend you to be present on, to get noticed. But like anything and everything, it takes time to grow. Being patient and working through newness with pride, happiness and passion and with the attitude of never giving up, you can see results.

I hope this opens up new doors and you also bag a couple of new solid clients.

Do leave a comment if you liked this post and also welcoming you to start a conversation with queries and view points. we all can learn a bit from each other.

I hope you have a good day!

Until the next post, buh-bye!
